- On-site role; must work at Bon Secours – Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA.
Job Responsibilities
- Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide proper patient instructions, collect insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and use an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey; operate telephone switchboard; adhere to policies; track Point of Service goals.
- Use quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure account accuracy; conduct audits, assure all forms are completed accurately and timely; provide statistical data to leadership.
- Pre-register patient accounts before visits, including inbound and outbound calls to obtain demographic, insurance, and other information; collect point of service collections and past-due balances, including payment plan options.
- Explain general consent for treatment forms, obtain necessary signatures and witnesses; distribute educational documents such as Medicare, Tricare, Observation Forms, MOON form, Consent forms, and all future service forms.
- Review eligibility responses in insurance verification system; select applicable plan code; enter benefit data to support POS and billing processes for a clean claim rate.
- Screen medical necessity with Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software, inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment; distribute ABN and other designated forms and pamphlets.

- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (Company paid).
