About the role

The Senior People Operations Partner delivers scalable, compliant and insight-led people operations across the employee lifecycle. Acting as a senior operational expert, this role owns core people processes, improves HR systems and data quality, and provides practical support to the People team, managers and employees.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and continuously improve core People Operations processes, ensuring they are efficient, compliant, well-controlled and enhance the employee experience.
  • Own people data quality, HR systems, reporting and insight, translating trends and risks into clear recommendations and practical action.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert for people systems, process governance, operational policy, compliance, payroll, benefits and employee relations queries.
  • Partner with People colleagues, Finance, managers and leaders to deliver consistent, fair and effective people processes.
  • Support and, where appropriate, lead employee relations activity, including investigations, performance, grievance, capability, absence and disciplinary processes.
  • Manage payroll and benefits operations in partnership with Finance, providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support company-wide people cycles, including performance, development, engagement, compliance and policy review activity.
  • Maintain people policies, templates, process maps and guidance materials, ensuring alignment with legislation and internal governance standards.
  • Lead or contribute to People projects that improve employee experience, manager enablement, data integrity and operational effectiveness.
  • Coach and support People Operations colleagues, helping to raise standards and build capability across the function.

  • Strong knowledge of People Operations, employee lifecycle processes, employee relations, HR policy, compliance, payroll, benefits, systems and reporting.
  • Understands how to maintain high-quality people data and apply appropriate controls for confidentiality, privacy and governance.
  • Uses people data and insight to inform decisions, identify trends and recommend practical action.
  • Designs scalable processes that balance compliance, employee experience, manager usability and operational efficiency.
  • Applies employment legislation and operational best practice with sound judgement and awareness of business context.

Experience required:

  • Significant experience in People Operations, or People Analytics.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising managers through formal processes.
  • Strong HRIS, reporting, data quality, workflow improvement and process documentation capability.
  • Able to interpret people data, identify trends and turn operational complexity into clear plans and practical solutions.
  • Experience managing payroll inputs, benefits administration, provider relationships and audit controls.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
