ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of Product for a domain or directly to the Head of Product, the Product Manager is responsible for maintaining the Product Roadmap for their area of responsibility. You will translate this into a backlog of initiatives that will deliver the desired outcomes of your Product Roadmap. At the early stage in the Product life cycle you will take the necessary actions to identify dependencies affecting your product initiatives and ensure they are engaged in the early stages of an initiative.

Prod Eng is one team, our Products are technology. You will be working very closely with engineers. You will ensure that they are part of the Product process – you will include the right people at the right time to ensure tech and ops input is factored early in the definition phase of initiatives.

You are responsible for line managing and directing Product Owners within your squads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining the Product Roadmap for area of responsibility; translating this into a backlog of initiatives and reprioritising as required.
  • Understanding and managing the required dependencies between and for each of the product initiatives.
  • Agreeing the objectives, commercial value and investment of each product initiative.
  • Ensuring clarity and focus on the key results or desired outcomes of each initiative and any associated KPI’s and ensuring the acceptance criteria has been agreed.
  • Working with Engineering to size the effort for the work and identify any technology implications.
  • Continuously monitor progress against the initiatives to ensure the delivery of the Product Roadmap.
  • Define the customer experience, reviewing and improving the Product initiatives to ensure ENSEK enhances the customer journey.
  • Proactively facilitate stakeholder reviews on the Product Roadmap and/or backlog of initiatives.
  • Ensure the close working relationship with engineers and your tribe and squad colleagues, making sure everyone is clear on priorities and what’s up next.
  • Providing support, coaching and direction to the Product Owners and other stakeholders as required.
  • Adding value to the experience of our clients, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders through practicing and promoting the ENSEK values.
  • Promoting and maintaining a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and teamwork across ENSEK.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience in managing and delivering projects, prioritising to ensure alignment and delivery of product initiatives.
  • Experience of working in an agile environment and from within the Energy/Utilities would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong project management skills with a flexible attitude and who is able to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience of working in and collaborating with multi-disciplined teams on product initiatives.
  • Experience in a business to business (B2B) background/Billing processes is preferred.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence others across the business.
  • A problem solver who is able to facilitate timely decisions.
  • Client focused approach, utilising knowledge and experience, demonstrating outstanding levels of diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to manage, coach, support and lead teams through influence and persuasion.
  • Values the importance of teamwork, with experience of working in a remote team being advantageous.
  • Proven ability to engage with and develop strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
