About the role
The Senior Product Manager for Energy Products & Quoting leads the strategy and delivery for a product within ENSEK’s Energy Orchestration System: how energy products are modelled, managed, priced, and quoted. This is where the customer journey begins – enabling our customers to configure, price, and deliver energy products that meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry. Energy retail is in a period of rapid transformation. EVs, home solar, batteries, heat pumps, time‑of‑use tariffs, export billing, and dynamic pricing are reshaping what an energy product looks like, and the industry is moving fast. ENSEK operates in a highly regulated market and is expanding internationally, meaning this product must work across different regulatory frameworks, tariff structures, and market conventions. This role is central to ensuring ENSEK keeps pace and leads. We are building for AI‑enabled energy operating models, and this role will be at the forefront of embedding AI into how products are configured, priced, and quoted.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in product catalogue, quoting, or CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) platforms, whether from energy or another industry with complex, configurable product models such as telecoms, insurance, or financial services. You’ll combine that domain expertise with strategic product leadership, coaching your team, influencing senior stakeholders, and setting the standard for evidence‑based, AI‑augmented product management.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Own the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for Energy Products & Quoting, ensuring it supports ENSEK’s customer commitments, international expansion, and the industry’s shift toward flexible and dynamic pricing.
- Lead the evolution of the platform’s product modelling and quoting capabilities to expand support for modern energy propositions: time‑of‑use tariffs (static and dynamic), multi‑rate structures, export products, agile pricing, and bundled propositions.
- Champion the integration of AI across the product area, from intelligent product recommendations and pricing optimisation to AI‑assisted catalogue management, driving toward an AI‑enabled energy operating model.
- Drive international product capability, ensuring energy products and quoting can be localised and configured for new regulatory markets without bespoke development.
- Ensure that strategy delivers intended benefits aligned to company direction, using evidence to challenge assumptions and adapting proactively based on user research, customer data, competitive intelligence, and regulatory developments.
- Drive value through evidence: contribute to business cases, apply commercial analysis to make‑vs‑buy‑vs‑partner decisions, and help others make value‑based prioritisation choices.
- Coach and develop the product management capability within your team, contribute to the wider product community, and champion AI literacy and capability building.
- Represent Energy Products & Quoting at senior stakeholder level, including customer‑facing discussions with energy suppliers, protecting the team from unnecessary scope changes while building long‑term trust and alignment.
- Guide stakeholders through product lifecycle decisions, using evidence to determine when to invest further, pivot, or retire products and features.
Key outcomes
- A product catalogue and quoting engine that supports the full range of modern energy products (including TOU, dynamic pricing and export) and can be extended as the market evolves.
- Demonstrable progress toward AI‑enabled product configuration, pricing, and quoting.
- Successful delivery of international product capability, enabling new markets to configure and quote their own products.
- Measurable improvement in quoting conversion, product coverage, and catalogue quality.
- Clear, trusted roadmap that is understood and used at all levels, from engineering teams to senior customer stakeholders.
- Evidence of others developing their product craft as a result of your coaching and mentorship.
- Strong stakeholder relationships with senior internal partners and external customers, evidenced by alignment and reduced escalations.
Skills, knowledge, experience & qualifications
- Significant product management experience, with a strong track record in product catalogue, quoting, pricing, or CPQ platforms in energy, telecoms, insurance, financial services, or another industry with complex, configurable product models.
- Demonstrable experience leading product strategy for multi‑geography or multi‑market platforms, including localisation and regulatory adaptation in highly regulated industries.
- Deep understanding of CPQ concepts: product modelling, pricing rules, eligibility, bundling, versioning, and quote lifecycle management.
- Strong track record of using AI and data to drive product decisions, with a vision for how AI can transform product configuration and pricing at scale.
- Proven ability to coach and develop Product Managers and influence senior stakeholders, including direct customer engagement.
- Expert command of product management practice: strategy, road‑mapping, experimentation, and lifecycle management.
- Demonstrable experience contributing to or leading business cases and commercial analysis.
- Comfortable with technical concepts (APIs, data models, configuration engines, pricing logic).
- Experience in energy, utilities, or regulated industries is advantageous but not required. We value strong CPQ and platform product experience from any sector.
- Experience representing product externally (industry forums, customer advisory boards) is advantageous.
