About the role

The Product Manager for Contracting owns the end‑to‑end contracting capability within ENSEK’s Energy Orchestration System: turning accepted quotes into binding agreements, managing terms, renewals, termination, and contract lifecycle events. We are building for AI‑enabled energy operating models, and contracting is a prime area for AI to transform operations – from automated compliance checking and intelligent contract generation, to AI‑driven lifecycle communications. We are looking for someone with strong experience in contracting, agreements, or subscription management platforms, whether from energy or another regulated, high‑volume industry such as insurance, telecoms, or financial services. You will work across engineering, commercial, compliance, and customer teams, making autonomous product decisions grounded in data while keeping delivery moving.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, vision and roadmap for Contracting, expanding contract coverage (B2B, export, time‑of‑use) and extending support to new markets and regions.
  • Drive internationalisation of contracting capabilities, ensuring the platform supports compliant contracting across each regulatory jurisdiction without bespoke builds.
  • Champion the integration of AI across contracting, driving toward AI‑enabled energy operations.
  • Make evidence‑based prioritisation decisions, using AI‑powered tools to improve estimation accuracy, and discussing trade‑offs transparently with stakeholders.
  • Define and track key product outcomes – contract compliance rates, price protection accuracy, communication timeliness, rate change accuracy – using dashboards and data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with upstream (Product Catalogue & Quoting) and downstream (Consumer Account Management, Billing) teams to ensure seamless integration across the customer account lifecycle.
  • Represent users confidently, advocating for research across supplier operations teams, compliance officers, and end consumers, and leveraging AI‑powered research tools to accelerate insight at scale.
  • Build long‑term stakeholder relationships including regulatory and compliance teams, influencing effectively to drive alignment and outcomes.
  • Create and maintain a prioritised roadmap, drafting PRDs and specifications, leveraging AI to accelerate documentation and analysis.

Key outcomes

  • Increasing the percentage of new customers on compliant contracts, with measurable improvement in B2B, export, and time‑of‑use contract coverage.
  • Growing the number of markets and regions supported, with contracts correctly applying jurisdiction‑specific compliance and price protection rules.
  • Demonstrable progress toward AI‑enabled contracting operations – automated compliance, intelligent generation, AI‑driven communications.
  • Reducing cost to serve through automation, self‑service, and platform efficiency.
  • High accuracy in product and rate changes, with correct communications at the right lifecycle stage.
  • Roadmap delivered to agreed timelines with clear evidence of value realised.
  • Quality standards attained: availability, operational health, security and tech debt managed in partnership with engineering.

Skills, knowledge, experience & qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience owning and delivering a contracting, agreements, or subscription management capability end‑to‑end within a SaaS platform.
  • Experience scaling a product across multiple markets or regulatory jurisdictions while maintaining a coherent platform.
  • Strong track record of using AI and data to drive product decisions, with a vision for how AI can transform contract management at scale.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships, including commercial partners, regulatory/compliance teams, and cross‑functional product peers.
  • Experience in industries with complex contracting requirements is welcomed – energy, insurance, telecoms, financial services, or other regulated SaaS environments.
  • Comfortable with technical concepts (APIs, data models, rules engines, compliance logic).
  • Experience with compliance‑driven product requirements (consumer protection, cooling‑off periods, regulatory reporting) is desirable.
