Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of QA/Engineering Manager (Platform and SRE), the Lead QA Engineer (QA Enablement) works closely with Principal QA to lead and support on QA Architecture across ENSEK, cross‑tribe testing efforts, QA process enhancement, QA toolkit, automation and core enablement BAU. With extensive QA technical experience, this role involves working with the QA Enablement engineers ensuring backlog alignment to business need, supporting companywide QA initiatives, help managing UAT environments and supporting incident resolution where needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and capability in organisational test architecture across ENSEK.
  • Support ENSEK’s testing toolset ensuring constant alignment with business direction.
  • Work in collaboration with the QA Enablement Engineers, Architects, Lead QA/Dev Engineers and Engineering Management on the design and implementation of testing best practices, testing tools and test strategy.
  • Support the implementation of ENSEK’s testing strategy, encompassing both manual and automated testing approaches aligned to Product Teams and a central QA strategy.
  • Collaborate with product management, development, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of testing efforts with business objectives.
  • Ensure the overall quality of the Product through development of test strategies and execution of various test techniques including E2E implementation and production monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement of all areas affecting the quality of product delivery, including test environment, release strategies, production testing, and monitoring across engineering.
  • Mentor and guide other test engineers, providing support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Promote and maintain a positive results‑oriented work environment, building partnerships and teamwork across the company.
  • Add value to the experience of our clients, colleagues, and other relevant stakeholders through practicing and promoting company values.

Technical Skills

  • Highly technical with expertise in Test Architecture, QA processes and best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of test tooling within ENSEK and across the technology industry a significant advantage.
  • Hands‑on experience of load testing and performance testing would be highly advantageous.
  • Understands the business bigger picture and able to make decisions leading to significant long‑term business impact.
  • Works effectively to bring a wider range of other people on board with the chosen directions on mindset, behaviours, and ways of working.
  • Hands‑on experience testing in complex event‑based architecture in cloud infrastructure using AWS (or any other Cloud provider).
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring others in their personal and professional development.
  • Approachable, strong communicator who can listen, influence and persuade others and with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
  • Values the importance of teamwork and experience of working as part of a remote, multi‑disciplined team is advantageous.
  • Technical expertise and proficiency in test automation tools and deep understanding of SDLC.
  • A highly organised, prioritised and structured approach to work.
  • Foster a culture of quality within engineering teams.
  • Experience of working in an agile environment and from within the Energy/Utilities would be advantageous but not essential.
