Our people are our superpower, and we are looking for a Lead QA Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead QA Engineer will be responsible for influencing the test strategy for Engineering and Product Lines within their designated squad.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will work with the engineering squad to improve the quality of ENSEK’s software, improve test frameworks and tools, and make risk assessments for software releases. They will also coach and mentor other members of the test team and lead continuous improvement of testing best practices within the product line/squad.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead role and go-to person for one squad or one product/technical domain impacting multiple squads
- Collaborate with the Principal QA Engineer, Architects, Lead Engineers, and Engineering Management on implementing testing best practices
- Formally lead other squad members, setting direction and driving continuous improvement
- Build and maintain core automation test frameworks
- Own and maintain QA environments and associated data
- Ensure accurate test coverage and manage ENSEK testing tool set
- Contribute to the central view of QA status across the ENSEK Product Portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement of areas affecting product delivery quality
- Maintain and develop QA skill set through external training and internal sharing of practices
- Be the focal point for testing-related queries and escalations
- Provide QA sign off for production releases
- Participate in the QA recruitment process
- Clearly communicate with senior stakeholders and clients on QA-related topics
- Contribute to the experience of clients, colleagues, and stakeholders through practicing and promoting ENSEK values
- Promote a positive, results-oriented work environment
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Extensive hands-on test experience within Agile projects and CI/CD or DevOps practices
- Experience advising on test scope, approach, risks, and assumptions
- Test automation expertise, including designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks
- Knowledge of Open-Source tools and Cloud-based services
- Programming concepts and experience in programming languages like .NET, C#, JavaScript
- Experience in non-functional aspects of testing, such as security and performance
- Ability to coach others with diplomacy and tact
- Agile and Software Testing Certifications are preferred
SOFT SKILLS:
- Identify and tackle challenges within the squad, resolving issues early and inspiring members to be resilient and think positively
- Approachable and strong communicator who can listen, influence, and persuade others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage dependencies, coordinate activities, and prioritize effort
