About the role
ENSEK is transforming Finance into a data-driven function — and this role sits at the core of that shift. You’ll be the go-to analytics partner for Finance, using SQL and Sigma to unlock data and enable self-serve insight. This isn’t reporting — it’s about turning data into clear, actionable decisions that drive the business forward.
Key responsibilities:
- Own Finance’s data & analytics capability — enabling true self-serve insight across the function
- Extract, transform and model financial data using SQL and Sigma, working directly from source systems
- Build high-impact dashboards and outputs that support fast, confident decision-making
- Turn data into insight — identifying trends, surfacing risks, and delivering clear commercial narrative
- Lead budgeting and forecasting support, including model ownership, actuals integration, and variance analysis
- Drive data quality, governance, and efficiency — partnering with Data teams and creating scalable, reusable solutions
Key outcomes:
- Finance can answer its own questions — with SQL-first, self-sufficient analysis replacing reliance on others
- Data is not just reported, but understood — with clear, concise narratives explaining the “why” behind the numbers
- Trends, risks, and anomalies are proactively identified and surfaced before they become issues
- Finance data is trusted — with strong ownership of data quality, definitions, and consistency
- Dashboards, models, and tooling are continuously improved — simpler, smarter, and built to scale
- AI-enabled ways of working are explored and embedded, enhancing how Finance accesses insight and makes decisions
Experience required:
- Strong SQL capability — confident writing queries across complex, multi-table data sets from scratch
- Experience with Sigma or a comparable BI tool (e.g. Looker, Mode, Metabase)
- Solid understanding of financial data (P&L, costs, headcount) and how it supports decision-making
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning processes
- Ability to translate analysis into clear, concise insight for a Finance audience
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and curious — with strong ownership of data quality
- Any experience with Databricks, Python, or modern data modelling tools (e.g. dbt) will be seen as desirable!
