About ENSEK
ENSEK builds the cloud‑native SaaS software that’s transforming how energy retailers operate, innovate and manage at scale. We help retailers lower operating costs, improve billing accuracy for consumers, and enhance customer experience through automation and AI‑driven insight, all underpinned by modern, cloud‑native architecture. ENSEK is at an exciting inflection point as we scale at pace towards new international horizons. If you’re driven by solving complex, real‑world problems and want to build modern technology that accelerates the global energy transition, you’ll feel right at home with us.
About the role
As Head of Product for Platform, you are responsible for the strategic direction and effective execution of ENSEK's Platform product portfolio. The Platform underpins every product team in the organisation; it is the foundation on which great products are built. You will drive us to a place where product/engineering teams are able to rapidly and safely build consistent, high-quality features by relying on a unified set of well-maintained software libraries and foundational ‘features’ that eliminate complexity and accelerate delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and deliver clear OKRs in partnership with engineering and commercial leaders.
- Treat internal engineering teams as primary customers, shaping platform priorities based on their needs and workflows.
- Define and own the Platform product strategy and roadmap, balancing near‑term delivery with long‑term architecture.
- Drive evidence‑based prioritisation, making clear decisions on what to improve, replace, or retire — including defining the future of the Workflow Engine at the core of billing and payments.
- Work closely with engineering leadership to align delivery, manage tech debt, and coordinate platform evolution across dependent teams.
- Lead build vs. buy vs. partner decisions with strong technical and commercial judgement.
- Own ENSEK’s AI platform strategy, enabling safe, scalable adoption of agentic AI and productivity tooling across product and engineering teams.
- Own “API as a Product”, accountable for external developer experience including documentation, consistency, tooling, SDKs, and API pricing and packaging.
- Own the end‑to‑end new customer onboarding platform, including configuration tooling, environment provisioning, and automation to reduce time‑to‑onboard.
- Define and own platform quality outcomes (availability, reliability, security), including production KPIs.
Key outcomes:
- Measurable improvement in external API developer experience (e.g. time-to-first-call, API NPS, support ticket reduction) with definition and implementation of an API pricing and packaging model in partnership with Product Marketing.
- Reduction in time-to-feature for product teams related to platform investment from areas such as Workflow engine, end-customer communication and document management frameworks, Identity and Access Management (IAM), API as a Product approach and agentic frameworks.
- Increase in platform adoption and consistency of use across engineering teams.
- Reduction in new customer time-to-onboard, with a target trajectory from months to hours through investment in configuration tooling and process automation.
- Reduction in time and effort required to provision and maintain customer environments (e.g. UAT, test, and production), with measurable progress toward self-service.
Experience required:
- Demonstrable experience as a product leader, ideally with experience in platform, developer tooling, or infrastructure-adjacent product domains.
- A strong technical background — you do not need to write production code, but you should be deeply comfortable engaging with engineering and understanding trade-offs.
- Proven ability to make objective, data-informed decisions about product direction — including the willingness to challenge existing solutions and advocate for change.
- Strong people management experience, with a track record of developing product managers and building high-performing product teams.
- Track record of defining and delivering complex technical products with clear value propositions for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to operate across both strategic and tactical levels — setting long-term direction while remaining hands-on enough to unblock teams and maintain delivery momentum.
- Understanding of P&Ls, budget setting/tracking, with the ability to create sound business cases.
- Ideally an educational background being Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management or equivalent.
