ROLE SUMMARY
The Programme Manager is a key role within ENSEK’s Flow Engineering Enablement Team (FLEET). This team is responsible for delivering internal architecture and operating model transformation initiatives in partnership with ENSEK’s technology teams. The initiatives focus on continual improvement and optimising “time to value”. The role provides programme management and leadership with strategic oversight of technical and delivery pipelines. The role encompasses all levels of stakeholder engagement, including supplier contracting and management, resource and capacity management; the creation and management of project plans and status analysis; establishing baselines and tracking variance; organisation and facilitation of project meetings and workshops; the production of relevant meeting outputs, including updates and actions; the management of project risks and issues; project documentation management and quality assurance; and the creation of critical project communication outputs both internally and externally. ENSKE’s Flow Engineering project deliverables will cover the following scope of activity: - Project design and formation including governance, key resources and schedule - Alignment of product and engineering teams to value streams - Review and evolve the architecture of ENSEK’s software - Target operating model definition and change management - Platform roadmap definition and execution to enable improved engineering flow
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be an experienced project and programme manager with a track record of delivering transformation initiatives within Technology businesses. You understand agile, waterfall and hybrid working practices and can effectively coordinate multiple complex streams of work in a cross-functional environment and engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. In this role, you will be responsible for:
1. Designing and setting up the project delivery with a clear project methodology definition, governance arrangements and resource plan.
2. Managing Flow Engineering Enablement Team partnerships with ENSEK’s technology teams to deliver architecture transformation projects, optimise workflows and support team transitions to new team topologies.
3. Ensuring that project milestone delivery dates and resourcing plans are agreed with the project steering group, key Technology team stakeholders and the PMO Manager.
4. Working with project teams, other project resources and key stakeholders to plan all project deliverables and day-to-day activities.
5. Administering ENSEK’s project management software tooling to maintain live views of the project delivery roadmap at different scales, with a breakdown activities, owners and due dates.
6. Regular engagement with project stakeholders and supplier delivery managers to review delivery plans, risks/issues and track the progress of agreed actions.
7. Chairing regular project team meetings to review the progress and assess delivery risk.
8. Tracking and continually assessing escalated project risks, issues and associated actions.
9. Chairing regular project steering group meetings with the project sponsor and senior stakeholders.
10. Preparing updates for ENSEK’s Executive Leadership team and Board on project progress.
11. Managing the performance of vendors aligned to project deliverables and ensure delivery in line with agreed outcomes.
12. Preparing and delivering internal updates and ad-hoc communications on the project progress, including maintenance of a dedicated SharePoint site.
13. Facilitating retrospectives with project teams to continually improve our partnering and project delivery approach.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
· Demonstrable experience delivering large-scale transformation and business change initiatives within a technology/software as a service business. · Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage technical delivery and resources. · A comprehensive understanding of agile working practices and an ability to translate multiple agile workstreams into a delivery roadmap. · Experience using project/work management tools, (ENSEK uses Aha! and Azure DevOps) · Ability to prioritise and manage delivery risks and issues. · Ability to write internal and external facing reports clearly demonstrating project progress and technical topics. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical teams. · An understanding of software engineering workflows. · Desirable: Ability to support the facilitation of key project workshops, e.g. event storming workshops to determine the scope of software domains and subdomains within a given value stream. · Desirable: Domain driven design knowledge or experience of working in organisations that follow a domain driven design approach when developing new software would be an advantage.

· Demonstrates a high attention to detail and quality, whilst able to consider the bigger picture. · Experience in fast-moving agile environments working across a large engineering team. · Ability to build strong relationships with wide range of internal/external stakeholders (technical and non-technical), and to influence senior stakeholders to reach consensus to drive change. · Resilient and perseverant, demonstrating a positive can-do and customer-focused attitude. · Curious, staying up to date with industry developments, active in external communities. · Organised, dependable, adaptable and able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities and work well under pressure.
