Our client specialise in vehicle and plant repairs and are currently recruiting for an experienced Parts Operative based in Wickford, Essex. They have an impressive client base including some of the UK’s most recognised names in utilities and communications.

As a Parts Operative, you will have a valid driving licence (as you would need to move vehicles around and occasionally go to part stores), and experience within the motor trade would be extremely beneficial too. The role is Monday to Friday, 8am-5:30pm. The basic salary would be up to £31,500 per annum. After probationary period you will then become eligible for their quarterly bonuses - from £500 to £1,000 per quarter.

As a Parts Operative your duties will include:

  • Receive, check, and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect incoming goods for accuracy, damage, and quality.
  • Store parts in designated locations following company procedures.
  • Keep the delivery and storage areas clean, tidy, and well-organised.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare parts for internal or external dispatch.
  • Use stock management systems to record and update inventory levels.
  • Carry out regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
  • Assist colleagues and other departments when required.
  • Handle parts and equipment carefully to prevent damage or loss.

Person Specification:

  • Problem solving ability.
  • IT literate (Microsoft office).
  • Strong listening, verbal, written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be self-driven and pro-active.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
  • Good communication skills/excellent telephone manner.
  • Able to work under pressure, in fast paced environment.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within the motor trade industry.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or parts environment (preferred but not essential).
  • Good all-round knowledge of automotive parts, and suppliers.
