Enrichment Technology Company Limited are recruiting for a Safety and Criticality Engineer. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to carry out design safety analysis, supporting projects to ensure project safety and licensing requirements comply with the customer’s requirements and ETC’s Core Plant Design (CPT) with a particular emphasis on meeting the specific national requirements for plant safety and licensing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide design safety analysis and licensing support including chemotoxic, criticality and nuclear hazard analysis.
  • Provide a safety and licensing knowledge base, which forms the safety design basis underpinning ETC CPT design and operation.
  • Carry out criticality safety analysis and dose calculations to support customer projects.
  • Conduct HAZOP/HAZAN/HAZID analyses and follow-up verification analyses to support customer projects.
  • Provide responses to safety and licensing related customer TQs and RFIs to ensure consistent response to all customers.
  • Review and provide input to project license submissions to ensure that national regulatory requirements are met and that any changes to CPT are dealt with in accordance with ETC procedures for design control.
  • Ensure complete on-time handover of project safety and licensing documentation in an agreed format.
  • Application of innovative first principles analysis to establish real risk and commensurate safety related systems (SRS) with an emphasis on designing out the hazard and eliminating SRS.
  • Provision of services to assure ETC complies with obligations to provide validated Certificates of Conformance with delivered cascades.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree in a Scientific or an Engineering subject is essential.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a safety analysis role, in particular criticality analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in using the MONK code for criticality safety analysis.
  • You will be a knowledgeable safety analyst who is able to communicate effectively.
  • You will manage work packages and contributing resources to deliver on time in full and within budget.
  • Experience with using the MCNP code for dose calculations.
  • Ability to promote and present designs and technical solutions to customers.
  • Proven experience in the development & application of new analytical skills to benefit customers.
  • Excellent personal task management, planning, influencing and organisational skills.
  • A flexible approach and willing to undertake overseas travel and work out of normal office hours when required.
  • An excellent communicator with the proven ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish deliverables.
  • Knowledge of French and German in addition to English would be helpful for performing the role.
  • A level of security clearance up to DV clearance is required to undertake the role.
