Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD & Communication – Haringey

Location: Haringey, North London

Pay: Β£100–£115 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Start Date: September 2026

Enrich Education Recruitment is working with an inclusive 3-form-entry primary school in Haringey seeking an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to support a young pupil with autism and significant communication needs. The pupil uses limited verbal communication and benefits from visual support, predictable routines, play-based interaction and consistent communication strategies. This would particularly suit someone with experience supporting non-verbal or minimally verbal children within EYFS or SEN settings.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • EYFS and/or SEN experience
  • Experience supporting autism
  • An understanding of communication difficulties
  • A patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong observational skills
  • Reliability and consistency
  • Confidence working closely with teachers and SEN staff

Experience using PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, now-and-next boards, sensory strategies or speech and language interventions would be particularly advantageous.

The school is a welcoming 2-form-entry primary with an established EYFS team and strong SEN provision. You'll work alongside experienced Reception/Nursery practitioners, teachers and SEN support staff, with guidance available throughout the placement. The school has excellent transport connections from Wood Green, Hornsey, Tottenham, Crouch End and Muswell Hill, with Underground, rail and bus routes nearby.
