West One is looking for a highly capable and motivated individual to join their development finance team as a Lending Director in Manchester. The successful individual will join a well-established development finance lender where they will be responsible for originating development finance facilities as well as managing the portfolio of loans they originate. This role would suit a high performing individual with previous development finance experience in either a bank or non-bank lending business. Key Accountabilities

  • Generating new development finance opportunities by building new relationships and managing existing relationships with developers, broker/intermediaries and property professionals.
  • Originating and structuring development finance opportunities that you will generate.
  • You will be responsible for managing the underwriting and credit process of completing new development finance opportunities.
  • You will then be responsible for managing the drawdowns and redemptions of the facilities that are originated ensuring that the portfolio of loans is consistently performing.
  • You will have responsibility to grow out or manage a team around you to assist you in hitting the proposed origination targets and to effectively manage the portfolio of loans.

  • Having a strong established track record of originating development finance opportunities and managing a portfolio of loans is essential.
  • Great communication skills essential for dealing with borrowers and brokers/intermediaries.
  • Presentation of credit papers to the credit committee and senior management.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment in a role that requires you to deal with a wide range of stakeholders.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Knowledge in reviewing development appraisals and structuring development finance facilities.
  • Knowledge of the credit underwriting process including the legal process, reviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports.
