Job Summary
The successful candidate will have a broad engineering background but must have specialist skills & experience in high-volume stamping, working with, and running high-speed tooling. We require our toolmakers/engineers to be capable of diagnosing and solving a wide range of mechanical problems that occur within multistage, high precision complex press/stamping tools. Working with equipment such as surface grinders, milling machines, and hand tools for bench work. Working with complex technical drawings & specifications, and fine tolerances e.g. 0.002mm. ENNOVI toolmakers are expected to have an assured approach to the tooling challenges before them, where attention to detail and quality is the norm. This role will be worked on a 2-week rotation of days/nights.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform assembly and debugging of press tools.
- Perform servicing and repair of tools to support production needs to support on-time deliveries.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing tools to support production.
- Provide technical support to the production line to achieve technical & quality requirements.
- Operate various tool room machining equipment (like surface grinding, milling, drilling).
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Have experience working to very close tolerances on surface grinding machines.
- Troubleshooting skills and be able to suggest how to improve tooling in conjunction with the design team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Must have current right to work in the UK; sponsorship will not be provided.
- Minimum of 5 years Toolmaking experience.
- Grinding to 0.002mm tolerances.
- Skilled in multi-station, high-speed cutting and forming press/stamping tools.
- Experience in high-speed Bruderer presses e.g. 30t-80t running at 80-1500 spm.
- Knowledgeable in cutting and forming non-ferrous strip materials e.g. Be.Cu., Ph.Br.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is a must.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent time management.
- Must be willing to work shifts on a rotational shift pattern of days/nights.
