The Hoxton, Southwark is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to be part of our team for the Seabird restaurant.
What you'll do...
- Lead the team by example, keeping them engaged, motivated and confident in delivering warm, genuine Seabird experiences.
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and kitchen leadership to ensure front and back of house operate seamlessly together.
- Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant, including rotas, training, payroll checks and basic financial administration.
- Help onboard and train new team members, ensuring brand standards, service steps and safety procedures are understood and followed.
- Create a positive and inclusive team culture by giving regular feedback, coaching in the moment and supporting development.
- Be present on the floor, anticipating guest needs, handling feedback and resolving complaints with care and confidence.
- Ensure high standards of food and beverage presentation, cleanliness, stock control and compliance with food safety and licensing requirements.
- Share guest insights and operational ideas with the wider F&B team to help continuously improve the Seabird experience.
Qualifications
What we're looking for...
- Previous experience as a supervisor or assistant manager in a busy, quality-led restaurant or bar environment.
- A solid understanding of front-of-house operations, service standards and people management basics.
- Comfortable working a rotating shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and peak trading periods.
- Confident communicator in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Organised and detail-focused, while staying flexible and calm under pressure.
- Someone who leads with personality and empathy, not ego.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest moments.
- A team player who enjoys getting stuck in and supporting others to succeed.
