We are seeking an experienced Commercial Solar PV Project Manager on a 3-month contract to oversee and manage commercial rooftop Solar PV projects up to 30MW. This Commercial Solar PV Project Manager will take full ownership of end-to-end project delivery across sites around Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire, ensuring programmes, budgets and HSE standards are met without drama. You will act as the day-to-day lead across clients, subcontractors and internal delivery teams, keeping projects moving, risks controlled and quality high.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial rooftop Solar PV projects from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
- Take full responsibility for project programme, budget control and delivery milestones.
- Lead site teams and subcontractors, driving productivity, quality and safe working practices.
- Own client and stakeholder communication, providing clear updates, reporting and issue resolution.
- Coordinate DNO applications, grid connection activities and key technical interfaces where required.
- Ensure compliance with CDM requirements, RAMS, permits, method statements and site HSE standards.
- Oversee procurement and logistics for materials, plant and labour to maintain delivery momentum.
- Manage change control, variations and commercial impacts in partnership with commercial teams.
- Chair project meetings, maintain project documentation and ensure strong audit-ready records.
- Drive snagging, commissioning support and handover packs to meet contractual requirements.
Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required
- Proven experience as a Commercial Solar PV Project Manager delivering commercial rooftop installations at scale.
- Strong understanding of rooftop Solar PV delivery, construction interfaces and electrical installation principles.
- Track record of managing programmes, subcontractors, risk and cost on multi-site projects.
- Solid working knowledge of HSE legislation and CDM responsibilities within a contracting environment.
- Confident stakeholder management skills with a calm, solutions-first approach under pressure.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical documentation.
- Strong reporting capability using common project controls and documentation systems.
- SMSTS and a relevant HSE qualification are highly desirable.
- Electrical qualification or strong electrical project experience is beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Bucks & Herts sites.
