A Business Development Manager is required to grow sales across the South of England for a fast-growing British renewable energy technology manufacturer. The Business Development Manager will manage and develop relationships with wholesalers, installers and other trade customers while creating new commercial opportunities across the region. This is a commercially focused role for someone who understands how to build trust, identify customer requirements and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue. The successful Business Development Manager will develop clear territory plans, maintain accurate sales information and work closely with the wider sales team to achieve unit and gross profit targets. The role offers autonomy, regional responsibility and the opportunity to contribute directly to growth within the renewable energy and battery storage market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a structured sales plan for the South of England.
- Build new relationships with wholesalers, installers and other relevant trade customers.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts to increase sales and long-term value.
- Identify customer requirements and present suitable renewable energy technology solutions.
- Set clear territory objectives that support annual unit sales and gross profit goals.
- Generate a healthy pipeline through proactive prospecting, referrals and industry networking.
- Negotiate commercial terms and progress opportunities through to a successful close.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and activity information within the CRM system.
- Analyse sales patterns, market activity and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare weekly progress updates and monthly sales performance reports.
- Collaborate with sales, technical and operational colleagues to deliver a strong customer experience.
- Support product launches and communicate new product developments to customers.
- Maintain strong knowledge of battery storage, smart energy products and the wider renewable energy market.
- Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.

Experience and Skills Required
