A leading UK awarding organisation is hiring a Renewable Heating Qualification Manager to develop and maintain a portfolio of qualifications with a focus on Heat Pumps and plumbing & heating. This role blends technical credibility with structured qualification development, assessment and examination design plus external quality responsibilities, working closely with internal stakeholders and external technical committees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead qualification development activity across plumbing and heating qualifications and associated documentation.
- Write and maintain examination and assessment materials ensuring validity, technical accuracy and currency.
- Deliver external verifier responsibilities in line with quality assurance requirements.
- Monitor and respond to legislative, normative and industry standard changes that impact qualifications and assessment content.
- Provide technical support to senior operational stakeholders on programme design, content and compliance considerations.
- Review MLP, course and qualification assessment documentation to drive continuous improvement and robust outcomes.
- Represent the organisation at industry and sector technical committees and meetings when required.
- Appoint, manage and support writers, levellers, credit rating support and assessment developers.
- Liaise with technical specialists on content design and development decisions.
- Embed accessibility and diversity principles across technical development activity.
Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent in plumbing with relevant sector experience.
- Heat pump installation and maintenance knowledge is advantageous.
- Refrigeration knowledge is advantageous.
- Qualification or experience in external monitoring and maintaining assessment quality is advantageous.
- Broad building services experience across training, development, assessment and quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of accreditation, certification, examination and assessment processes.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft applications.
- Highly organised with strong time management and deadline control.
- Confident communicator with strong influencing skills and the ability to operate with tact and discretion.
- Demonstrable ability to design, develop and implement assessment strategies for technical qualifications.
- Clear commitment to accessibility, diversity and equality.
