This 1st Line IT Support position is based in York and plays a key role in maintaining and supporting IT systems across multiple locations. The role involves providing technical assistance, managing support tickets, and ensuring that all hardware, software, and network systems are running efficiently. Working within a small digital team, this position offers the chance to contribute directly to a variety of projects while gaining hands-on experience in IT operations, diagnostics, and user support. Occasional travel to other UK sites including Slough and Livingston will be required. Role Overview * Capture, manage, and complete IT support tickets efficiently. * Provide remote and phone-based technical support to users. * Research, quote, and order IT hardware and software as required. * Maintain and update IT equipment, systems, and network infrastructure. * Carry out hardware upgrades and routine maintenance checks. * Perform fault finding and diagnostics across a range of IT systems. * Manage user accounts across business applications and platforms. * Conduct QA testing of new systems before rollout. * Support on-site visits to other branches to maintain systems and ensure reliability. Experience & Skills Required The successful candidate will demonstrate the following: * Strong communication skills both written and verbal. * Highly organised with good attention to detail. * Experience using Windows and Mac operating systems. * Knowledge of Unix or Linux systems is beneficial. * Confident in researching and resolving IT problems independently. * Full, clean UK driving licence.
