We are recruiting an experienced PSHE Teacher to join a specialist therapeutic school in the Oakham area, working with small groups of pupils with SEMH, ASC and related needs. This long-term role starts immediately and will run until at least July.
You will deliver PSHE across KS2-KS4, supporting pupils' personal development and helping them achieve accredited outcomes. The school offers a calm, therapeutic environment with strong teamwork and a commitment to safeguarding.
The Role- Deliver engaging PSHE lessons to small groups
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- Support wider curriculum activities, assemblies and drop-down days
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and record keeping (Safeguarding is everybody's business. All staff are expected to comply with the relevant sections in KCSIE.)
- Work independently and use initiative in a supportive team (Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently. Ability to build relationships quickly with challenging or reluctant young people.)
- Qualified Teacher (QTS)
- Experience delivering PSHE
- Understanding of SEN/SEMH needs
- Confident managing behaviour and building trust (Ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils.)
8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8.30am-4.00pm Fri. Term time only.
