We are looking for two compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a highly supportive specialist setting in the DE1 area. This long-term role is ideal for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference to young people who face barriers linked to anxiety, social, emotional and mental health needs.
About the Role
You will be working with small groups of secondary-aged pupils who require additional emotional and learning support. The environment is calm, nurturing and structured to help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn. Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils with anxiety and SEMH-related challenges
- Encouraging engagement and helping them to attend lessons
- Providing learning support within the classroom and small-group settings
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
What We're Looking For
- Experience or awareness of SEMH, trauma-informed practice or behaviour support
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
