We are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected specialist SEN school in the Derby area for an experienced High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team from September through to Christmas initially, with the potential for the placement to be extended.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment. The Role
- Deliver learning activities to small groups of pupils.
- Work closely alongside an experienced class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team.
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, adapting activities to meet individual learning styles.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
- Help create a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
We're Looking For
- HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally within a specialist setting.
- Confidence leading small group interventions and supporting learning.
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
