We are recruiting an experienced PSHE Teacher to join a specialist therapeutic school in the Oakham area, working with small groups of pupils with SEMH, ASC and related needs. This long-term role starts immediately and will run until at least July. You will deliver PSHE across KS2 and KS4, supporting pupils' personal development and helping them achieve accredited outcomes. The school offers a calm, therapeutic environment with strong teamwork and a commitment to safeguarding.
The Role
- Deliver engaging PSHE lessons to small groups
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- Support wider curriculum activities, assemblies and drop-down days
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and record keeping (Safeguarding is everybody's business. All staff are expected to comply with the relevant sections in KCSIE.)
- Work independently and use initiative in a supportive team (Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently. Ability to build relationships quickly with challenging or reluctant young people.)
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher (QTS)
- Experience delivering PSHE
- Understanding of SEN/SEMH needs
- Confident managing behaviour and building trust (Ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils.)
Hours & Pay
8.30am - 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8.30am - 4.00pm Fri. Term time only.
