How to prepare for a job interview at Enlightenment Education
✨Know Your SEND
Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Be prepared to discuss specific strategies you've used in the past to support pupils with challenging behaviour. This shows that you’re not just familiar with the theory, but you can apply it in real classroom situations.
✨Showcase Your Flexibility
As a supply teacher, adaptability is key. Be ready to share examples of how you've successfully adapted your teaching style to meet the needs of different groups. Highlight any experiences where you’ve had to think on your feet or adjust lesson plans quickly.
✨Engage with the Team
Since you'll be working alongside teaching assistants and other staff, demonstrate your ability to collaborate. Talk about times when you’ve worked effectively in a team setting, and how you value the input of others in creating a positive learning environment.
✨Ask Insightful Questions
Prepare some thoughtful questions to ask during the interview. Inquire about the specific challenges the school faces with SEND pupils or how they support their supply teachers. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you gauge if it's the right fit for you.
