Enlightenment Education is working with a fantastic Derby SEND school seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join them on a long-term basis starting asap. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a primary background who thrives in small, nurturing class environments.
About the Role
- Phonics interventions using the Little Wandle programme (experience preferred but not essential)
- Early reading support
- Targeted academic interventions across small SEND classes
- 1:1 and small-group learning to help pupils make meaningful progress
You will work closely with teachers and the intervention team to provide structured, high-quality support tailored to individual needs.
Ideal Candidate
- Holds HLTA status or has equivalent experience
- Has a primary teaching or support background
- Understands phonics and early reading development
- Is comfortable working in a SEND environment with small class sizes
- Brings patience, consistency, and a nurturing approach
Hours & Commitment
- Monday to Friday
- 8.30am - 3.30pm
- One after-school meeting per week
- Long-term supply placement within a supportive SEND school
