MPS/UPS + TLR 2.1 Enlightenment Education are currently recruiting for an experienced SENDCo to join a local nursery school in Derby on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional to take a key role in the strategic development of SEND provision within a nursery setting, whilst also undertaking teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, staff, parents, external agencies and other professionals to ensure children with SEND receive effective support and are able to make good progress. The role will include:
Leading and developing the school's SEND provision.
Coordinating the day-to-day operation of SEND provision.
Monitoring the progress and achievement of pupils with SEND.
Ensuring statutory responsibilities relating to EHCPs are met.
Coordinating and contributing to Annual Reviews.
Supporting staff in understanding and meeting the needs of pupils with SEND.
Liaising with parents, external agencies and other schools.
Supporting transition for children with SEND.
Providing professional guidance and advice to staff.
Contributing to staff development and SEND training.
Supporting the strategic development of SEND policies and provision.
Analysing relevant pupil data and assessment information.
Supporting applications for EHC Plans and additional SEND funding where appropriate.
Undertaking teaching responsibilities within the Nursery.
Planning and delivering effective teaching for whole classes, groups and individual children.
Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil progress.
About you
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEND professional who has a strong understanding of SEND provision and is confident working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies. You will need to have: Strong knowledge and understanding of SEND.
Experience of supporting children with additional needs.
A good understanding of SEND identification, assessment and provision.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
The ability to work effectively with staff, parents and external professionals.
A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children.
An understanding of Early Years practice and child development.
Early Years experience would be advantageous. The opportunity

part-time position working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, totalling 19.5 hours per week , with a salary of
MPS/UPS plus TLR 2.1 . The post holder will be responsible to the Headteacher and will play an important role in supporting the school's SEND strategy and provision.
