Welfare Officer Needed

Job Details

  • Salary: £100 - £150 per day depending on experience
  • Work hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with one‐hour unpaid lunch break (some flexibility)
  • Work pattern: 35 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks)
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Contract type: Permanent

Our client is looking for a warm, organised, and enthusiastic person to join our school team as a Welfare Officer. This important role involves looking after pupil attendance and supporting the health and welfare needs of our children. You will be the key person pupils turn to when they are feeling unwell or need care during the school day, so kindness and a calm manner are essential. Additionally, you will support the SENCO and office team with general admin tasks and sometimes cover the front desk.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of care for students feeling unwell or in need of care during school hours
  • Assist the SENCO and office team with general admin tasks

We are looking for someone who...

  • Has experience working in a secondary school
  • Has experience and/or knowledge of first aid
  • Is kind, caring and supportive, especially with children who come to welfare
  • Can multi‐task and prioritise in a busy school environment
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Communicates clearly and confidently – both in writing and in person
  • Works well in a team but can also work independently
  • Builds positive relationships with children, staff and families
  • Is confident using IT systems such as ARBOR, Medical Tracker, Word and Excel
  • Can work well with other professionals both inside and outside of school
