We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our early years team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0β5 years, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Support children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
- Encourage children's independence, confidence, and creativity through play-based learning.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, contributing to learning journals and development reports.
- Ensure all children have equal opportunities to learn and participate.
Key Person Responsibilities
- Act as a Key Person for a group of children, building positive relationships with children and their families.
- Monitor and track developmental milestones, identifying any concerns and working with colleagues to provide appropriate support.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
Safeguarding and Welfare
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children at all times.
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
- Support children's personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene routines where required.
Teamwork and Professional Practice
- Work effectively as part of a team to provide outstanding childcare.
- Support colleagues and contribute to planning, meetings, and staff training.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality is upheld.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare or equivalent recognised qualification. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (desirable).
- Experience: Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting. Knowledge and practical experience of the EYFS framework. Experience observing, assessing, and recording children's development.
- Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, caring, and nurturing approach. Strong understanding of child development. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Good organisational and record-keeping skills. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Desirable:
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
