The Role
Working closely with Partners and senior lawyers, you will advise a varied client base on both day-to-day pensions matters and complex projects.
- Ongoing pensions advisory work
- Advising trustees and corporate sponsors
- Defined benefit and defined contribution schemes
- Pensions issues arising from corporate and commercial activity
- Risk transfer projects
- Complex pensions projects and restructuring
- Drafting deeds, agreements and other pensions documentation
- Advising on the interpretation and application of pensions legislation
- Supporting clients through complex one-off projects
You will have the opportunity to manage your own workload and develop strong, long-term client relationships, whilst working as part of a genuinely collaborative national team. There will also be responsibility for supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, helping to develop the wider team and contributing to a positive working culture.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have 5+ years' PQE and a strong background in pensions law.
- Solid experience advising on occupational pension schemes
- Experience across both day-to-day advisory matters and more complex projects
- Strong technical knowledge of pensions law
- Excellent drafting and analytical skills
- The ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines
- A commercially focused and client-friendly approach
