A respected law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Family Law Child Care Secretary or Legal Assistant to support its busy child care team.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Solicitors and Fee Earners within the child care team. Responsibilities include the efficient production of legal documents, forms, correspondence and court paperwork, ensuring a high level of accuracy. You will manage diaries, assist with general administration and support the smooth progression of child care and family law matters. A strong understanding of court procedures and the child care and family law process is essential. You will contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the department and help the team deliver excellent client service, working under pressure and to tight deadlines when required.
The ideal candidate will have previous legal secretarial experience within a child care or family law team. You will have excellent document production skills and be confident using Microsoft Word and a case management system (ideally Partner for Windows), with strong formatting and editing abilities. You should demonstrate a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills and the initiative to learn and work independently. Excellent communication skills are required due to regular interaction with colleagues, clients and third parties. You should be self-motivated, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a busy legal environment.
