Are you an experienced Professional Indemnity Solicitor with a background in defendant insurance litigation looking for your next challenge? Our client is a highly respected specialist organisation operating within the insurance and claims management sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced solicitor to join their Professional Indemnity team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value defendant professional indemnity claims, acting on behalf of insurers and insured professionals. You'll manage a varied caseload involving claims against SRA and FCA regulated professionals, providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice from first notification through to resolution.

The Role

Working as part of a specialist team, you will manage professional indemnity claims on behalf of insurers and their insureds, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly and in line with policy coverage and regulatory requirements.

  • Managing a caseload of defendant professional indemnity claims from inception through to conclusion.
  • Handling claims involving SRA regulated law firms and solicitors, together with FCA regulated professionals.
  • Investigating liability, indemnity, causation and quantum issues.
  • Advising insurers and insured professionals on policy coverage, litigation strategy and claims resolution.
  • Instructing and liaising with panel solicitors, counsel, experts and other stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Negotiating settlements and overseeing defended litigation.
  • Building strong relationships with insurers, brokers, insureds and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor status.
  • Proven experience handling defendant professional indemnity claims.
  • A strong understanding of insurance law and professional negligence.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a technically challenging caseload with minimal supervision.
  • A commercial, solution-focused approach and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working with insurers, claims handlers or within the insurance sector would be highly desirable.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build credibility with clients and stakeholders.
