A well established and reputable criminal defence firm is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defence Solicitor to join its busy team.
Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of criminal defence matters, representing clients at the police station and Magistrates' Court, with exposure to Crown Court work as experience develops.
- Advise clients at often critical stages of proceedings, preparing cases thoroughly and liaising with counsel, courts and other agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- There will be opportunities to undertake advocacy and to build strong relationships with clients, delivering clear, practical advice with professionalism and reassurance.
Candidate requirements
- Qualified Solicitor from NQ level upwards with experience in criminal defence. Duty qualification is preferred, although candidates working towards accreditation will also be considered.
- You should be confident handling your own caseload, attending police stations and Magistrates' Court and working effectively under pressure.
- Strong advocacy, case preparation and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to providing high quality representation and client care.
- This role would suit a resilient and motivated Solicitor who thrives in a fast paced environment and is passionate about criminal defence work. You will be organised, proactive and capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
