Responsibilities

  • Work within a specialist Will Disputes and Contentious Probate team focusing solely on contentious probate work, including a broad mix of disputes arising from estates and trusts.
  • Handle claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act, challenges to the validity of wills, executor and administrator disputes, estate administration issues, Court of Protection matters and trust-related litigation.
  • Manage an own caseload while contributing to larger, more complex matters alongside colleagues across both contentious and private client teams.
  • Receive close support and technical guidance within a well-established specialist team, with opportunities to build expertise in this niche area.

Qualifications

  • Typically between three and five years’ experience in civil litigation, with exposure to contentious probate work.
  • Candidates from a broader litigation background with a genuine interest in this area will be considered.
  • This role is suited to a motivated solicitor looking to develop a long-term career in contentious private client work within an expanding practice.
