A well‑established Thames Valley firm is looking to appoint an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its growing disputes team. The role focuses on advising clients on a wide range of private wealth disputes, including challenges to wills, estate administration issues, and claims involving trusts and inheritance.

Responsibilities

  • You will take responsibility for a varied caseload, managing your own files independently while working closely with senior colleagues on more complex and sensitive matters.
  • The role offers regular client contact and requires a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to often delicate situations.
  • In addition to casework, you will contribute to the practice through client relationship management and participation in networking and business development initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with at least four years of post‑qualification experience in contentious probate or private wealth disputes.
  • You will have a solid grounding in handling disputes relating to estates and trusts, with the ability to manage matters effectively from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a sensitive and professional approach to client care, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly are essential.
  • A proactive attitude, sound organisational skills, and an interest in business development are also important.
  • An ACTAPS qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
