In-House Solicitor β Property Litigation
Hertfordshire
4 - 8 PQE
Are you an experienced Property Litigation Solicitor looking for a role where you can move beyond traditional private practice and become a key legal adviser to a major UK property business?
A leading UK property and investment group is looking to appoint an In-House Solicitor to join its established legal team. This is a broad and commercially focused position, offering the opportunity to work directly with senior stakeholders and advise on a diverse portfolio of residential property, leasehold, building safety and contentious matters across England and Wales.
Reporting closely into the Head of Legal , you will play an important role in supporting a substantial residential leasehold property management business. You'll be trusted to provide practical, commercially aware advice and will have genuine exposure to matters that have a direct impact on the wider business.
The Opportunity
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising the business on a broad range of property management and building safety issues , including contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Managing and supporting property disputes and litigation , including court and tribunal proceedings.
- Investigating complex leasehold and freehold title structures and providing clear, practical advice.
- Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and amending contracts, pleadings, correspondence, legal briefs and other documentation.
- Preparing and maintaining litigation case files and supporting court and tribunal filings.
- Working with external solicitors, counsel and other professional advisers where required.
- Providing commercially focused legal advice to internal teams and helping the business manage legal and regulatory risk.
What are we looking for?
We are keen to hear from Solicitors who have:
- 4+ years' PQE with solid experience in property litigation, gained either in private practice or an in-house environment.
- Strong knowledge of residential property law , particularly leasehold and freehold matters.
- Experience handling property disputes and/or building safety issues .
- The ability to understand complex property structures and provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Construction law experience would be advantageous , although it is not essential.
If you're a property litigator who wants greater commercial involvement, broader responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with a business rather than simply advising from the sidelines, this role could be an excellent next move.
You'll be joining a supportive legal function, working alongside an experienced senior lawyer and gaining exposure to some genuinely interesting issues across the property sector.
