Excellent opportunity for an experienced Procurement Lawyer to join the growing national team of this Legal 500 firm.

THE ROLE: The firm is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join its leading national cross-sector Public Procurement team. In this role, you will provide specialist support and advice on public procurement law to clients across both the public and private sectors. You will be involved in all aspects of procurement matters, acting for both contracting authorities and suppliers. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and advising on procurement documentation throughout the procurement lifecycle, from contract notices and tender documentation to evaluation strategies, standstill communications, and contract awards.
  • Advising on procurement strategies and delivering broader procurement advisory work.
  • Providing guidance on procurement challenges, disputes, and decision-making processes.
  • Playing an active role in business development activities, helping to strengthen and expand client relationships.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior team members and supporting their professional development.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' PQE and proven experience in public procurement law. You will be confident managing your own caseload and client relationships, with the ability to take ownership of matters and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. Strong commercial awareness, excellent legal and analytical skills, and a sound understanding of the public sector are essential, together with a genuine interest in and enthusiasm for public procurement work. Experience in marketing and business development activities is highly desirable, as is the ability to represent the firm through networking, client engagement, and public speaking opportunities.
