You will have the opportunity to build the department from the ground up, helping shape the strategy, develop the client base, recruit your team and establish the firm's presence in Coventry.The OpportunityYou will take a lead role in developing the firm's childcare offering, initially handling your own high-quality caseload while playing a key part in establishing the new office. The role will give you considerable autonomy and the opportunity to make your mark, with support from the wider firm and the resources required to develop a successful practice.You will be involved in:Establishing and developing a new Childcare Department in CoventryBuilding and managing your own caseload of complex childcare mattersActing for parents, children and/or other parties in care proceedingsDeveloping relationships with existing and prospective referrersBuilding a strong local profile and reputation within the childcare marketDeveloping and implementing a strategy for the growth of the departmentIdentifying opportunities to recruit and develop additional members of the teamWorking closely with the firm's senior management to establish the Coventry officeContributing to the wider strategic direction of the firm's family offeringAbout YouThe successful candidate will be an experienced Childcare Solicitor with Children Panel accreditation and a strong understanding of publicly funded childcare work.You will ideally have:Significant experience in childcare lawChildren Panel accreditationA strong technical knowledge of care proceedingsExperience handling your own caseload of complex mattersExcellent client care and communication skillsA strong network of professional contacts and referrersA genuine desire to develop business and build a new practiceLeadership qualities and the ability to develop a teamCommercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approachMost importantly, you will be ambitious, driven and motivated by the opportunity to build something.You may already be a senior solicitor, team leader or partner.
