Overview

In this role you will join a Legal 500-ranked Court of Protection team handling high-value, complex cases involving catastrophic brain injury. You will manage Property & Affairs Deputyships and Personal Injury Trusts, coordinating with clients, families and professionals to ensure compliant, thoughtful outcomes. The role combines hands-on casework with mentoring junior colleagues and helping refine team processes. You will work in a collaborative environment, with opportunities to develop specialist expertise and influence practice direction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage own caseload of Property & Affairs Deputyships and Personal Injury Trusts
  • Prepare Court of Protection applications and supporting documents
  • Assist with Office of the Public Guardian reports and annual reviews
  • Ensure compliance with OPG Deputyship Standards
  • Liaise with case managers, families and professionals
  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues
  • Develop and improve team processes in the practice area

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years’ PQE
  • Proven Court of Protection experience
  • Background in Property & Affairs Deputyships and Personal Injury Trusts
  • Strong technical knowledge and client care
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a complex caseload autonomously
  • Desirable experience with vulnerable or brain-injured clients
  • Experience supervising juniors and contributing to business development
