Employment Solicitor (Legal Director / Partner Level), Manchester, Competitive Salary & Package (£DOE)
A successful Top 100 law firm is expanding its Employment Law presence in Manchester and is seeking an experienced senior Employment Solicitor to play a pivotal role in developing its North West offering.
This is a key strategic hire for an ambitious lawyer who is looking for genuine autonomy, strong platform support and the opportunity to build and shape a practice within a progressive, highly regarded firm.
The Role
As a Legal Director or Partner, you will take ownership of the Employment practice in Manchester, acting as the senior figure in developing the team, client base and market profile. The role blends high-quality client work with leadership, growth and profile-building.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and growing the Manchester Employment offering
• Advising employer clients across the private and public sectors on complex advisory and contentious matters
• Managing tribunal litigation and strategic employment disputes
• Supporting corporate, commercial and restructuring teams
• Driving business development and building strong regional relationships
• Recruiting, mentoring and developing a team over time
The Candidate
• Qualified Employment Solicitor in England & Wales
• Typically 8+ years’ PQE (flexible for the right individual)
• Strong technical and commercial employment law expertise
• Demonstrable ability to build client relationships and generate work with a proven track record working with clients in the North West
• Leadership mindset with the ambition to develop a practice
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative and commercially focused approach
• A following is welcomed but not essential – cross-referrals, investment and platform support will be provided, however
