Employment Solicitor, 5+ Years PQE, Birmingham, £65,000+ (DOE) – This is an exciting opportunity to join a Legal 500 and Chambers-recognised team, contribute to major projects, and play a key role in shaping the continued growth and success of the practice. JOB REF:0115.
THE ROLE:
• Work closely with partners and senior colleagues on complex and high-profile matters
• Advise clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary processes, grievances, whistleblowing, and discrimination
• Manage the defence of Employment Tribunal claims
• Support clients through restructuring and workforce change projects, including changes to terms and conditions and consultation processes
• Draft legal updates, author articles, and deliver training as part of a structured business development and client engagement strategy
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 5+ years PQE with a strong background in employment law
• Confidence in managing own caseload and delivering pragmatic, solution-focused advice
• Experience with equal pay matters is desirable but not essential
• Ideally, previous mentoring or supervision of junior team members
• Excellent drafting, communication, and client-handling skills
• Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A team player mindset with a flexible, proactive approach
• A genuine interest in business development and building long-term client relationships
