Are you an experienced Childcare Solicitor with Children Panel accreditation who is ready for the next step in your career? Perhaps you have reached the point where you want more than simply managing your own caseload. Maybe you have the ambition, drive and client following to build something of your own, but would prefer to do so with the backing and support of an established law firm.
If so, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Childcare Solicitor / Children Panel Accredited Lawyer to establish a brand-new Childcare Department and Coventry office. This is not simply a role within an existing team. You will have the opportunity to build the department from the ground up, helping shape the strategy, develop the client base, recruit your team and establish the firm's presence in Coventry.
The Opportunity
- Establishing and developing a new Childcare Department in Coventry
- Building and managing your own caseload of complex childcare matters
- Acting for parents, children and/or other parties in care proceedings
- Developing relationships with existing and prospective referrers
- Building a strong local profile and reputation within the childcare market
- Developing and implementing a strategy for the growth of the department
- Identifying opportunities to recruit and develop additional members of the team
- Working closely with the firm's senior management to establish the Coventry office
- Contributing to the wider strategic direction of the firm's family offering
About You

- Excellent client care and communication skills
- A strong network of professional contacts and referrers
- A genuine desire to develop business and build a new practice
- Leadership qualities and the ability to develop a team
- Commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach
Most importantly, you will be ambitious, driven and motivated by the opportunity to build something. You may already be a senior solicitor, team leader or partner. Alternatively, you may be an experienced Children Panel solicitor who feels that the time is right to take a significant step forward in your career.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
For the right person, this represents a rare opportunity to have a genuine influence over the direction and success of a new office. You will not be inheriting an established department with little room to make changes. You will be one of the key people responsible for creating it.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Build the department.
- Build the team.
- Build the client base.
- Build the Coventry office.
- Build your own profile and career.
The firm is looking for someone with the ambition and entrepreneurial mindset to take ownership of the opportunity and make it a success.
