Overview

You will lead the Residential Conveyancing team within a long-established North West law firm, overseeing workflow, service quality, and department growth. In this leadership role, you’ll manage a diverse caseload and mentor junior fee earners while aligning with CQS and SRA standards. You’ll collaborate with Partners on reporting, finance oversight, and business development to shape the firm’s residential property offering. Responsibilities

  • Lead the residential property team as Head of Department
  • Manage workflow and ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Maintain a reduced but diverse residential caseload (freehold/leasehold, transfers of equity, re-mortgages)
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and technical support to junior fee earners
  • Contribute to strategic planning and departmental growth
  • Ensure compliance with CQS and SRA standards
  • Collaborate with Partners on reporting, financial oversight, and BD initiatives

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential conveyancing
  • Proven track record of supervising or leading a team
  • Strong technical expertise across conveyancing areas
  • Ability to manage client relationships and contribute to commercial strategy
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of local property market and estates (desirable)
