An organisation delivering a nationally significant infrastructure programme is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide high-quality commercial and contractual legal advice across a complex portfolio of work. This role will support internal stakeholders by advising on a wide range of commercial, construction and procurement matters, helping to secure robust contractual outcomes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. The Legal Counsel will work with minimal supervision and play a key role in managing legal risk across high-value projects.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating high-value and complex construction and commercial contracts
- Advising on procurement, contract management and statutory obligations
- Supporting the resolution of contractual claims and disputes, including managing external legal advisers where required
- Contributing to reports and briefings for senior stakeholders to support effective decision-making
- Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and promoting inclusive ways of working
About You
- Qualified solicitor or barrister
- Strong experience in contract and/or procurement law, ideally within construction, infrastructure or major projects
- Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and working autonomously
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality legal advice in a fast-paced environment
