Overview
In this role you advise on non-contentious IP for national and international clients, handling trademarks, copyright, designs, licensing and portfolio management. You’ll collaborate with commercial, technology and corporate teams on transactions and projects, offering strategic IP guidance. You’ll leverage senior experience to build client relationships and contribute to business development within a growing international practice. This Birmingham position offers leadership opportunities and a chance to enhance the firm’s profile in the region.
Responsibilities
- Advise on complex non-contentious IP matters for diverse clients
- Provide expertise on trademarks, copyright, designs, licensing and IP commercialization
- Develop and manage IP portfolios and strategic IP advice for clients
- Collaborate with commercial, technology and corporate teams on transactions and projects
- Contribute to business development and client relationship growth
- Work cross-functionally across different practice areas to deliver integrated solutions
- Support senior leadership and help grow the Birmingham IP team
Key requirements
- Strong experience in non-contentious IP matters
- Excellent knowledge of trademarks, copyright, designs, licensing and IP commercialization
- Ability to advise on strategic IP issues and portfolio management
- Strong commercial understanding of client businesses
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence to develop client relationships and contribute to BD
