THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will undertake a varied caseload of public and private children matters, as well as domestic abuse work, acting for both legally aided and privately funded clients.
You will undertake advocacy on your own cases and provide advocacy support for colleagues where required. The role will also involve keeping up to date with legal developments, particularly within your specialist area, and ensuring that departmental practices and procedures comply with Legal Aid Agency, Lexcel and firm standards.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ PQE and solid experience in Children Law, with the ability to undertake a mix of public and private children and domestic abuse work. Advocacy experience, preferably at all levels of court, is essential.
You will have experience working within the Legal Aid Agency’s CCMS system and contract requirements, together with excellent communication, problem solving and legal research skills. The ability to prioritise effectively, work under pressure and meet targets is essential.
