A well-established and highly respected law firm in Dorset is seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor or FCILEx to join its growing Litigation team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and commercially minded lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE to work alongside experienced litigation specialists while managing their own caseload of civil and commercial disputes.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of contentious matters, high-quality work, and genuine opportunities for career progression.
The Role
The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of litigation matters with an appropriate level of supervision, whilst contributing to the continued growth and success of the department.
The team advises on a wide range of disputes, including
- Commercial disputes
- Contractual disputes
- Shareholder and partnership disputes
- Debt recovery matters
- Property-related disputes
- Professional negligence claims
- General civil litigation
- Alternative dispute resolution and settlement negotiations
You will work closely with colleagues across the firm while being confident managing your own files and building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters
- Providing clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court applications
- Conducting negotiations and assisting clients in resolving disputes efficiently
- Attending hearings and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Participating in networking and business development activities
- Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to other departments within the firm
- Maintaining excellent standards of client care and communication
