Enistic helps businesses tackle the climate crisis through practical, effective carbon management. We are a trusted partner to a large number of organisations, providing tailored consultancy and our bespoke carbon reporting software to help business leaders reduce emissions, meet compliance obligations, and save money. We are a 16-person team based in Oxford. We are growing, and this is an opportunity to join a company where your work has direct, measurable impact on how businesses respond to climate change.

We are recruiting a Sustainability Consultant to join our consulting team. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, taking ownership of their sustainability reporting and compliance needs. The work spans ESOS, SECR, and Energy Action Plans, with scope to grow client relationships into broader sustainability services such as Product Carbon Lifecycle Assessments and ESG reporting. This is a hands-on role. You will collect and analyse data, produce compliance reports, liaise directly with clients, train them on our software platform, and undertake in-person energy site audits throughout the UK. You will need to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously across clients of varying size and complexity. You will report to the Head of ESG.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Own and manage a portfolio of clients across their ESOS, SECR, Carbon Reduction Plans and related compliance requirements.
  • Compile client’s ESOS Phase 4 reports, including performing some required site energy audits.
  • Collect, validate, and analyse client energy and emissions data using our software platform.
  • Produce GHG inventories and compliance reports to meet government legislation deadlines.
  • Conduct in-person energy site audits at client premises across the UK as required.
  • Train clients on the use of our carbon reporting software.
  • Support account managers and the sales team to identify opportunities to develop client accounts into broader sustainability services.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and client retention.
  • Attend weekly and monthly team and client meetings.

Requirements — Essential

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy, Geography, Engineering, or similar).
  • At least 3 years' professional experience of working in a similar environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful client projects of a technical nature.
  • Working knowledge of GHG Protocol Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and working with large datasets).
  • Full UK driving licence (site audits are part of the role; own car preferred but not essential).
  • Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK for energy audits when needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects and competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Based in or around Oxford preferred, or able to commute to our Oxford office reliably.

Requirements — Desirable

  • Experience with sustainability, carbon accounting, or energy consulting would be desired, but not essential.
  • Experience with TCFD/CRFD, SBTi, CSRD, or other sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Experience conducting energy audits or site assessments.
  • Familiarity with carbon reporting or ESG software platforms.

Skills and Attributes

  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • A methodical, logical approach to data and problem-solving.
  • Client-focused — you take ownership of relationships and follow through.
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes.
  • Flexibility to collaborate with other teams (e.g. support marketing materials creation like leaflets, videos, webinars, etc).
  • Proactive and self-motivated — you do not need to be chased.

What We Offer

  • Hybrid working model (3 days in the office / 2 from home).
  • Flexitime.
  • Pension.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + an additional day for your birthday (increasing with length of service).
  • Training and professional development.
  • Company events and free breakfast.
