Based at: Cookstown
Job Purpose: To work as part of a manufacturing team, designing and developing a range of motor control & power distribution panels to clients' specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the interpretation of clients' requirements in the design phase of projects.
- Preparation of detailed electrical design and general arrangement drawings for the manufacture of motor control & power distribution panels.
- Ensure compliance throughout the development of assigned projects with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations.
- Preparation of bills of materials for procurement.
- Preparation of documentation for the testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Assisting with the preparation of tenders.
- Participate in design/process reviews for products as required.
- Engage in problem solving and brainstorming, both individually and as part of the design team.
- Maintain and update electronic files, using electronic document management software.
- Liaise and build effective working relationships with Enisca clients.
- Keeping up to date with changes to applicable UK and European legislation.
- Keeping up to date with technological advances and new products.
- Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval.
- Undertake any other such duties considered to be commensurate with the experience of the post holder and the requirements of the post.
Criteria Qualifications / Knowledge:
- Essential: Ideally hold electrical engineering qualification but applications with suitable and related previous design experience in switchgear, automation, and electrical control systems will have equal consideration.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- UK Drivers Licence, access to own transport, and willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland.
- Desirable: Knowledge of various electrical design software packages.
Experience:
- Essential: 5 years electrical experience (or relevant qualification).
- Desirable: Experience in the design of electrical control systems.
- Experience in EPlan & AutoCAD.
- Previous experience in the water industry.
Skills and Abilities:
- Essential: Natural aptitude for logical problem solving.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to build relationships internally and externally with colleagues and clients.
- Understanding of engineering drawings.
- Desirable: Project management skills.
