Eni Progetti UK operates a Smart Working policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure location and these 12 days can be available even where personnel are on leave for a portion of the month.
As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.
Role Overview
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the team at Eni Progetti Basingstoke. They will manage the engineering execution of projects, ensuring project objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Procedures, Standards and the Quality System
- Ensures application of Eni Progetti and Eni procedures and workflows and compliance with quality requirements
- Ensures engineering activities are executed both in accordance with Eni standards and with involvement of Technical Authority.
- In liaison with the HSEQ department, organises project audits, performance appraisal and continuous‑improvement reviews, implements and captures Lessons Learned, monitors project performance and implements corrective actions when necessary
- Technical
- Defines the Project Engineering Execution Plan (PEEP) and ensures its implementation and monitoring throughout the project phases.
- Oversees the engineering execution of activities, focusing on maximising value for the business
- Coordinates design and HSEQ reviews
- Defines and monitors project schedule and cost budgets
- Manages engineering risks through identification, assessment, response planning, monitoring and communication to stakeholders.
- Manages project changes and their impact on the project execution
- Manages and monitors project interfaces
- Consolidates project workloads through the monthly forecasting process
- Manages multidisciplinary outsourced engineering services
- Consolidates the cost estimate activities and shares the outcomes with management and stakeholders
- Use of Software
- Ensures Electronic Document Management System setup and proper document management aligned with corporate procedures.
- Guarantees correct implementation of digital tools and platforms.
- Ensures Life Cycle Information system setup and data governance in compliance with project requirements.
- Relationship Management
- Acts as the main engineering interface with stakeholders for overall project execution, risks, progress and decisions.
- Coordinates with Head of Departments, Project Coordination Function, Engineering Technical Function, Engineering Project Service, HSEQ and Engineering Service Supplier to ensure alignment with execution strategy and project objectives.
- Is proactive in taking accountability to achieve results for the business, supporting the business decision making process, striving in pursuing value for the business and its stakeholders.
- Organisation, Leadership and Autonomy
- Is accountable for the work done, demonstrating ability to work autonomously, showing independence and consciousness in decision making and problem solving within an appropriate timeframe
- Leads the Engineering Project Team during the project execution, defining roles, staffing and workload with the Head of Departments.
- Controls planning, priorities, resource utilisation and ensures adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
- Ensures orderly administrative and technical close-out, including job-account closure and final reporting.
- Knowledge and Experience
- Proven capability in managing engineering execution, including planning, scheduling, progress/cost control, workload, forecasting, risk management, change management, and application of project management processes and procedures.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment, with teams based in different locations.
- Familiarity with all project phases (Feasibility, FEED, Execution)
- Understanding of the role and the purpose of Owner Engineering in an international organisation operating in the energy business.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BEng in Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) desirable.
